Upgrading T-Mobile SGH-T989 to CyanogenMod 10

I am using an unlocked T-Mobile Samsung galaxy S II with an original firmware.

Prerequisites

  1.  T-Mobile GSH-T989 Drivers
  2. ClockworkMod Touch Recovery 5.8.1.3
  3. Odin3
  4. ClockworkMod Touch Recovery 6.0.1.2
  5. CyanogenMod 10
  6. Google Apps
  7. A micro SD card (to be used in your phone)

These are the steps I used to upgrade my phone.

  1. Install the T-Mobile Drivers
  2. Make sure your back up your phone if there is anything important
  3. Turn off the phone
  4. While holding the middle of the volume buttons (it presses them both) press the power button
  5. Press up after the phone asks to stat download mode
  6. Plug the phone into the computer
  7. copy files 4,5,6 onto the SD card in your phone
  8. Open Odin3
  9. select PDA and browse for this file ClockworkMod Touch Recovery 5.8.1.3
  10. click start
  11. when the upload is finished restart the phone
  12. While holding the middle of the volume buttons press the power button
  13. when the phone boots into ClockworkMod Touch Recovery touch selection “install zip from SD card
  14. Choose zip from SD card and choose ClockworkMod Touch Recovery 6.0.1.2
  15. Confirm the selection
  16. When complete go back and reboot system now
  17. While holding the middle of the volume buttons press the power button
  18. When the phone boots into ClockworkMod use the arrows to  selection “install zip from SD card
  19. Choose zip from SD card CyanogenMod 10
  20. Confirm the selection
  21. When complete go back and reboot system now
  22. While holding the middle of the volume buttons press the power button
  23. This time select “wipe data/factory reset”
  24. Then select “wipe cache partition”
  25. Select “reboot system now”
  26. let the Phone boot into the new system
  27. once you have confirmed this works turn off the phone
  28. While holding the middle of the volume buttons press the power button
  29. Choose install zip from SD card and select the gapps file.
  30. confirm and restart the phone.
  31. if you like you can now restore your data if you had backed it up.

That is it, now you have a fully updates phone. enjoy
